About FLY
FLY is the umbrella organization of youth and students -in Liberia . It was established on May 31, 1974 and enacted into law through an Act of the National Legislature on September 20, 1978. It is charged with the responsibility of organizing and coordinating the activities of the youth population of Liberia . FLY was initially named: the Urban Youth Council, but was later transformed to reflect the broad-based representation of Liberian youth. This was made possible through some of its founding and past leaders: Ambassador Joseph Nyumah Boakai, Vice President of Liberia; Mr. E. Richmond Draper, Past Chairman, National Board-YMCA of Liberia; Harold Monger, Director General, Liberia Institute of Public Administration; Cllr. Varney Sherman, Proprietor, Sherman & Sherman Law Firm, etc.
